21 Dec 2024, the trial production of ESSB 1450mm Hot Rolling Mill has launched officially and produced first hot-rolled coil successfully. The commenced production of ESSB 1450mm Hot Rolling Mill is not only marks the completion and commenced production of overall ESSB Phase 2 Project, but also filling the gap of Malaysia hot-rolled coil product. The entire industrial chain of Malaysia steel industry will be connected and the gaps in the fields such as construction, home appliances, automobiles, etc. will be filled. It expected to provide strong support for the transformation and upgrading of local manufacturing industry.

The annual capacity of ESSB 1450mm Hot Rolling Mill is 2700 kmt/year. The production line adopted advanced and latest technologies and equipment in the industry. It has reached international advanced levels in product quality, energy consumption and production costs. The product range of hot-rolled coil is (1.2- 25.4) × (900-1300) mm, and product varieties include Common and High Quality Carbon Structural Steel, Pipeline Steel, Weather-Resistant Steel, Gas Cylinder Steel, Heat-Resistant Structural Steel, Shipbuilding Steel, Chequered Steel, Steel for Cold Rolling and Automobile Frame.

Since Jianlong Group took stack of ESSB in 2018, the company has growth into a comprehensive steel complex enterprise which consist of production process such as coke, sintering, iron making, steel making, ferroalloy and power generation. The ESSB products are sold throughout Malaysia, and also sold to countries and regions in Southeast Asia and East Asia such as Thailand and Vietnam.
